Your existing post should have an inside diameter (I.D.) of at least 2.21".

Everything about this purchase was great. I actually used this part to repair the rusted top of my terminal fence post. Just cut off the old rusted part and inserted the extender piece. I did need to wire brush the inside of the existing pole to allow for the extender to fit easily. Once completed I spray painted with Rust-oleum black paint and had a "new fence post" without having to remove the old post and concrete. SWEET! Delivery was quick as well.

Raised my pool fence a foot and where it met existing fence I need to extend a corner post 1’. Rather than dig up the existing post art in concrete, I purchased this extension. Worked like a charm. Painted it black to match existing and added a band around the joint and you can’t even tell. Saved a ton of work and schedule.

Does not slide in at all. I will have to WD-40 it and use a 2 by 4 on top to work it in. Your return policy makes it counterproductive to return. Also my pipe size is accurate.
